Approximately 9 years ago an infamous and crusty Lieutenant with the heart the size of Goliath from the New London Fire department began volunteering
his vacation time to be a councilor at the CT Burn Foundation Camp in Union CT. This camp is run one week every summer for child burn victims. A place where no one stares and kids can just be kids. Soon other members of the department became councilors. Firefighters are keenly aware of the lasting and painful
scares left by fire, and are the type of people who have to help when they see someone in need, and so evolved the New London Firefighters Burn Foundation where 13 members of the rank and file work to help burn victims and their families. As the only
not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Burn Foundation in Eastern Connecticut we raise monies to assist families with costs associated with recovery
from burn injuries as well as promoting burn prevention, Burn Center research funding and support of the camp.
